About Expired Tools

Answers one question: when does this domain expire? You type a name and your browser asks the registry that runs its ending, through RDAP (the official successor of WHOIS), and shows the expiry date, the registrar and the status codes in plain words.

Who runs this site

Expired Tools (expired.tools) is operated by Anderson Gomes Ferreira. contato@expired.tools

How it works

The lookup runs in your browser. It first reads the list of registry servers that IANA publishes, then asks the server for that ending directly. Our servers are never in the middle, so we do not see the names you check.

What a registry returns is checked before it is shown: only a domain record with the name you asked for is accepted, dates must be valid timestamps, the size is capped, and nothing from the answer is ever treated as page code. Registrant and contact details are never read or shown, only the registrar’s name.

Status codes and the steps after expiry are explained from ICANN’s own pages and policies, each with a link and the day we opened it. Where the time depends on the registry or the registrar, the page says so instead of guessing.

Where the data and rules come from

How we keep the content up to date

Every explanation shows its source and the day it was opened (11 October 2026). The status table and the timeline are reviewed when ICANN revises the pages they come from.

What this site is not

We show what the registry published at the moment you asked. Some endings (many country codes) have no RDAP server, some registries hide fields, and a registrar’s own renewal page is the place to act on a date. The tool does not check TLS certificates, does not tell you whether a name is available to register, and does not list domains about to expire.
